ScheduledCareer Development and Working Styles in Japan: Perspectives from Foreign Professionals

Based on firsthand experience working in Japanese, Chinese, and European companies, this course presents a realistic view of what it means to work in Japan as a foreign professional.
Participants will explore the advantages and challenges of working in Japan, differences in corporate culture and working styles between Japanese and foreign-affiliated companies, and strategies for collaborating in multinational teams.
The course also covers key points for job hunting and interviews, skills valued by employers, and attitudes important for building a career in Japan. Join us in discovering the appeal and possibilities of working across cultures.

Lecturer
Zhenlin ZHANG/ Senior Customer Solution Manager (TomTom Japan)

Graduated from East China University of Science and Technology with a major in Computer Science in 2002.
Held positions including System Engineer Leader and Program Manager at Neusoft Group, Visteon Japan Corporation, Valeo Japan Corporation, and Continental Automotive. Currently responsible for the development and sales of automotive GPS navigation units at TomTom, headquartered in the Netherlands. Has worked for many years in R&D, production, and sales with multinational teams at both Japanese and foreign-affiliated companies.
