What is the significance of learning Japanese in an era where AI technologies, such as translation and interpretation tools, are widely used? This lecture explores the importance of learning Japanese in the age of AI, discussing the limitations of translation technologies and the intrinsic value of language learning. By examining specific examples, we will also consider the potential of Japanese language learning for future society and careers. We hope this lecture will offer participants an opportunity to think about the unique charm and possibilities of Japanese beyond the reach of AI.
